On Thursday, for the second night in a row, the northern region of Romania's Tulcea County was the subject of alerts related to the possibility of objects falling from the airspace near the border with Ukraine, as fragments of drones have been flying into Romania in recent months, Digi24 reports, according to UNN.

Details

"Last night, at around 01:20, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations issued an RO-Alert for the northern part of Tulcea County, informing the population about the possibility of some objects falling from the airspace, in the area near the border with Ukraine. We reiterate that the role of the alert is to inform and warn the population in the area where it is transmitted and it should be treated accordingly!" the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) in Tulcea announced on Thursday morning, as reported by News.ro.

ISU representatives urged citizens not to panic, to follow the instructions and advice in the RO-Alert, and if they do not feel safe or need help and support, to call for assistance at 112.

"We make it clear that the territory of our country is not an object of attacks by the Russian Federation, and these alerts are aimed at informing the population that there is a possibility of objects falling from the damage of unmanned aerial vehicles on the territory of Romania," the ISU in Tulcea said.

This is the second information alert sent to the population of the northern district of Tulcea County in 24 hours. No calls to the 112 number were registered.

Authorities also issued an RO-Alert in northern Tulcea County on Tuesday night after several drones were spotted approaching the border. There were 10 calls to the 112 number due to the sound of explosions. The Romanian Defense Ministry clarified that two F-16 aircraft of the Romanian Air Force took off from the 86th Borca Air Base to monitor the air situation and ordered to take measures to conduct investigations on the ground, in the vicinity of the city of Plaura, in order to find possible objects that fell on the territory of the country. No such object was reportedly found.
