A serviceman was served a notice of suspicion of committing an accident in the city of Sloviansk, Donetsk region, which killed two people, including a journalist. UNN reports this with reference to the State Bureau of Investigation.
"SBI officers served a notice of suspicion to a serviceman who committed an accident in the city of Sloviansk, Donetsk region. The accident killed two people, including a journalist," the statement said.
It is reported that the investigation found that at about 15:55 on May 30, 2024, a minibus driven by a serviceman and a car collided at the intersection of Bankivska and Shevchenko streets in Sloviansk.
"As a result of the collision, the vehicles turned around, one of which hit a pedestrian walking on the sidewalk. The driver of the car died at the scene of the accident, and the female pedestrian, who worked as a journalist for one of the state media, died in hospital," the SBI informs.
As part of the pre-trial investigation, all witnesses to the accident were interviewed, and automotive and other examinations were conducted.
"The serviceman was served a notice of suspicion of violation of traffic safety rules by a person driving a vehicle, which caused the death of several people (Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The issue of choosing a measure of restraint in the form of detention is being decided," the statement said.

In May, in Sloviansk, Donetsk region, a war correspondent for Ukrainian broadcasting Anastasia Volkova was killed.
