Five rescuers were injured in a second explosion while extinguishing a fire caused by the detonation of an unknown explosive device in Mykolaiv.

An unknown object exploded in Mykolaiv. While extinguishing the fire, a second detonation occurred - 5 rescuers were injured, UNN reports.

"This evening, an unknown explosive device exploded, setting cars on fire. While extinguishing the fire, a second detonation occurred, and 5 employees of the State Emergency Service were injured," the SES reported.

According to Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych, the rescuers provided first aid on the spot. The victims are currently in hospital.
