In the Kyiv region, a company illegally buried hazardous and harmful substances in the soil, causing damage worth more than UAH 9 million. This was reported by the Kyiv police, according to UNN.

The 44-year-old reportedly headed an enterprise that offered hazardous waste disposal services without licenses and appropriate material and technical facilities. The company entered into contracts with state and private enterprises for such services.
The unauthorized dump was set up on a leased plot of land in Kyiv Oblast. Toxic substances, including mercury lamps, expired medicines, etc., were brought there and simply buried in the ground. According to environmental safety standards, such substances must be disposed of without harming the environment.

During the searches of the suspects' residences, the police seized "draft" records, seals, stamps and 4 cars used to carry out illegal activities.
All members of the criminal group were served a notice of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 239 of the Criminal Code (Pollution of land with substances harmful to people and the environment committed by an organized group). They face up to five years in prison.
