the russian defense ministry claims that its air defense system "destroyed" 14 UAVs overnight over three regions of russia: 12 over Kursk, one over Belgorod and one over Voronezh.
On the morning of August 13, Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of Belgorod region, said that almost the entire population had left Krasnoyaruzsky district.
"More than 11 thousand people have left. Now about a thousand people are staying in temporary accommodation centers," Gladkov said in his video message.
According to the 2021 census, the district's population was just over 14,000, the BBC Russian service notes.
A day earlier, Gladkov announced the evacuation of residents from the Krasnoyaruzsky district. Later, local authorities closed the entrance to the district. According to the head of the Krasnoyaruzsky district, Andrey Miskov, in a telegram, approximately 11,500 people remained there. The 500 people who remained in the district, he said, were administration employees and other necessary specialists.
The Krasnoyaruzsky district of the Belgorod region borders Ukraine to the west and the Belovsky district of the Kursk region to the north, where mandatory evacuation has also been announced.
According to ISW in its August 12 report, Ukrainian forces appear to be advancing further in the Kursk region, despite recent claims by milbloggers that Russian forces are stabilizing the front line in the Kursk region.
