Following Ukraine's drone attacks and large-scale spring floods in a number of regions, russian oil refining has fallen to its lowest level in 11 months. Bloomberg reports, UNN reports.
Details
It is noted that russia processed 5.22 million barrels of crude oil per day between April 11-17.
Bloomberg calculations show that this is about 10,000 barrels per day, or 0.2%, below the average for the previous seven days.
Overall, in April, russian refineries processed an average of about 5.23 million barrels per day, one of the lowest rates since May last year.
The publication noted that weather conditions also affected the operation of the refinery. In particular, on April 7, due to floods in the Ural region, the Orsk oil refinery was shut down. During the last reporting period, the refinery did not process crude oil.
Over the previous seven days, the refinery had been processing an average of 26,500 barrels per day. According to the article, the loss of these volumes was one of the biggest factors behind the overall decline in refining rates in russia on April 11-17.
The other two refineries - the independent Novoshakhtinsky refinery and Lukoil's Perm refinery - reduced their average refining rate by a combined 45,000 barrels per day.
Addendum
As UNN reported, this year Ukraine has carried out several successful strikes on russian oil refineries using drones. In particular, the head of the SBU, Vasyl Malyuk, said that Ukraine has carried out at least 13 successful attacks and reduced oil production and refining in russia by 12%.
Recall
Moscow has asked Kazakhstan to create a reserve of 100,000 tons of gasoline for supply to russia in case of a fuel shortage due to Ukrainian drone attacks on russian refineries.
