Desertion is flourishing in the armed forces of the southern military district of the occupying Russian army. This was reported by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, UNN reports .

It is noted that in total, more than 18 thousand Russian soldiers have left the district's combat units without permission.
The lion's share - about 12,000 fugitives - falls on the 8th Combined Arms Army of the Russian Federation, which the enemy constantly uses in combat operations in eastern Ukraine. In the 58th Combined Arms Army, which is also part of the southern district of the aggressor state's army, the desertion rate is about 2,500 people.
