The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on the deprivation of state awards for propaganda of the aggressor state, the MPs Corps reported, writes UNN.

"The Rada has revoked state awards for popularizing or promoting the aggressor state or committing other illegal actions against Ukraine. For-283, " - said MP Alexey Goncharenko.
"The parliament adopted as a whole #11410 on the deprivation of state awards of traitors to Ukraine," said MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
"The law is important! Traitors have no right to own state awards!"- commented Goncharenko.
According to the draft law, it is proposed to deprive state awards of persons who popularize or promote the aggressor state and its authorities, representatives of the authorities of the aggressor state and their actions that create a positive image of the aggressor state, justify or recognize the occupation of the territory of Ukraine as legitimate.
According to the current legislation, it is still possible to deprive state awards only if the awardee is convicted of a serious crime.
But Zelensky suggests that the deprivation of state awards can occur not only by a court verdict of guilty, but also on the basis of the decision of the national security and Defense Council on the application of Special Economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions), put into effect by Presidential Decree.
"A person deprived of state awards loses the right to all the rights and benefits provided for persons awarded state awards of Ukraine. State awards and relevant award documents belonging to a person deprived of state awards are subject to return within 30 days to the permanent subsidiary body established by the president of Ukraine," the draft law says.
Many associates of the fugitive president Yanukovich, as well as politicians from banned pro-Russian parties, still have state awards.
