The court found a resident of Zhytomyr region, who worked for a sanctioned propaganda publication, guilty of treason. He was sentenced to 14 years in prison. This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office, UNN reports.
Details
Prosecutors proved in court that the convict collaborated with the head and owner of the pro-Russian online publication Politnavigator in 2014-2022. At the request of the FSB, it formed a media network to spread Kremlin narratives in the information space of Ukraine.
The owner of the publication hired the Zhytomyr resident as a freelance correspondent to prepare propaganda materials. Realizing that he was working for the Russian secret service, the man spread tendentious theses, in particular about "the Russian president's help" to Ukraine, "self-determination of the DPR," heroism of Russian soldiers, etc.
At the court hearing, the traitor did not deny the fact of cooperation with the Russian Federation, but insisted that he did not write articles to order, but took them from the open space of the Internet.
He has now been sentenced to 14 years in prison with confiscation of property.
