Prosecutors from the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine have sent a case against the leaders of the Ukrainian Association of Football to court. This concerns the president and general secretary of the organization, UNN reports with reference to information from the agency.

According to the investigation, in 2016–2017, the suspects, together with other individuals, implemented a "scheme" during the procurement of equipment for the construction of a factory that was supposed to produce artificial turf for football fields. The equipment was purchased at inflated prices, and part of the money was "withdrawn" to other companies.
As a result, the association lost 26.5 million hryvnias. Another approximately 15 million hryvnias, according to the investigation, were transferred to the accounts of a controlled company abroad.
The accused are charged with embezzlement of property on an especially large scale and money laundering obtained illegally.
Now the case will be heard by the court.

In December 2025, former UAF president Andriy Pavelko appeared on the list of persons hiding from authorities. In 2023, Pavelko was taken into custody. And in 2024, the defendant in the high-profile criminal case managed to get the arrest canceled. After that, according to media reports, he fled abroad using a fake disability.
