In Ukraine, over 4,000 appeals were filed during the year regarding violations during mobilization, including cases of physical coercion. Although these cases have decreased, some cases of violations of citizens' rights remain. This was stated by the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets in a comment to the Objective Media Group, UNN reports

Details

“We receive such requests all over Ukraine. As for the Kharkiv region, our approach is traditional: my employees, headed by a representative, immediately go to the place where we physically access the citizens of Ukraine, get information from them, and then decide how to respond legally. Sometimes it is enough that our representatives appear, and the offenses end, if they existed. In the general context, we have had cases when I decided to send submissions that resulted in both criminal and disciplinary proceedings,” Lubinets said.

According to him, this also resulted in disciplinary actions against representatives and employees of the TCC and JV.

“In my opinion, the situation in Ukraine, if we compare it with the previous year, has deteriorated a little bit, but not dramatically. We see fewer and fewer cases of physical busification, as we call it. It is already clear that this approach does not work, but some cases of violation of the rights of Ukrainian citizens in the area of mobilization remain. This year alone, we have received more than 4,000 such appeals,” Lubinets summarized.

He also has a negative attitude toward lowering the age of mobilization to 18. Lubinets believes that by taking young men without families and children, Ukraine is depriving itself of its future. “In my opinion, we still have a fairly large number of middle-aged men - from 30 to 45 years old. This is the most effective category of Ukrainian citizens who can fight and probably should fight,” Lubinets said in an interview with UP.

Recall

UNN wrotethat the statements of the White House officials will not affect the changes in the mobilization age in Ukraine.
