Bulgaria has successfully shipped the first batch of 30 Soviet-era BTR-60 armored personnel carriers to Ukraine as part of military aid, with a total of 100 vehicles to be delivered.

Last week, Bulgaria sent the first batch of Soviet armored personnel carriers to Ukraine, which were transferred to the Defense Forces. This was stated by the country's Defense Minister Todor Tagarev, according to the novinite publication, UNN reports.

Details

Defense Minister Todor Tagarev has announced the successful shipment of 100 armored personnel carriers to Ukraine. According to him, the process of sending military aid began on November 22 last year.

The operation to transport the armored vehicles began on January 29, and the first convoy of 30 cars left on March 7.

Minister Tagarev praised the dedication of the 240 servicemen who took part in the operation.

According to the Bulgarian minister, such delays are caused by certain logistical difficulties. He emphasized the importance of continued support for Ukraine , stressing that Bulgaria remains vigilant in monitoring the situation and maintaining readiness for regional challenges.

Tagarev emphasized the Ministry's commitment to ensuring the welfare of Bulgaria's armed forces and continuing to support Ukraine's defense efforts.

Earlier, UNN reported that Bulgaria began sending Soviet BTR-60 armored personnel carriers to Ukraine, the first six of which were loaded onto trucks and sent from Sofia to Novyi Iskyr.
