The Verkhovna Rada plans to discuss ways to reduce electricity consumption by water utilities. According to Sergey Nagornyuk, the staff of Water Utilities is excessively inflated, and electricity costs make up a significant part of the cost of water.

The Verkhovna Rada, together with the state agency for infrastructure restoration and development, plans to discuss and think about how to make sure that Ukrainian water utilities consume less electricity.

This was stated by the chairman of the subcommittee on energy saving and energy efficiency of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on energy and housing and communal services Sergey Nagornyak during a press briefing, reports UNN.

I think that together with Sergey Ivanovich (chairman of the state agency for infrastructure restoration and development – ed.), we will talk and think about how to make sure that Ukrainian water utilities consume less electricity...because this is the lion's share in the cost of producing and supplying water to households

Nagornyak said.

In addition, he said that the United States in Ukrainian  water utilities is growing in space.

I do not know, it seems that everyone who is sorry and Not Sorry is satisfied there. Who needs to be attached somewhere

Nagornyak declared.

As an example, he cited  the situation with the number of employees in the city of Bagachevo in the Cherkasy region, where 103 people work in the Vodokanal, and, in his opinion, 30 will be enough.

I ask the chairman: how many people work in Vodokanal and he says: 103 people. I ask: Do they carry buckets of water around the city? What can 103 people do in a water utility in a city with a population of 10 thousand? Carry out a reform there and leave 30 people. It seems to me that 30 people will be enough for rich people to have water

Nagornyak said.

The National Bank predicts that tariffs for gas, heating and hot water will remain unchanged in 2024-2025. However, due to the difficult situation in the energy sector, it is expected that from 2026 it will gradually be raised to economically reasonable levels.
