Belarus has begun forming a new airborne assault brigade, which will be stationed near Gomel — approximately 40 km from the border with Ukraine. This was stated on the air of the Belarusian Ministry of Defense TV channel by the commander of the special operations forces of the Belarusian armed forces, Alexander Illiukevich, reports UNN.

It concerns the 37th separate airborne assault brigade.
We have already begun forming military units, one battalion has been formed, officers have been recruited and personnel have been conscripted. This year we are forming another battalion, combat support units, artillery, anti-aircraft units, reconnaissance units
Let us add that currently in Belarus there are three separate airborne assault brigades: the 103rd in Vitebsk, the 38th in Brest, and the 5th in Maryina Gorka near Minsk.
