Today, two cars collided in Volyn region, killing one person and injuring five others, three of them children. This was announced by the first deputy chief of the Patrol Police Department, Oleksiy Biloshitskyi, UNN reports.

According to the law enforcement officer, the accident occurred near the town of Liuboml, Volyn.
"As a result of the accident, one VAZ passenger died at the scene and five people were injured, including children aged 14, 8 and 6. The driver of the VAZ with severe injuries is fighting for her life in the hospital," Biloshytskyi said.
According to preliminary information, the driver, driving a VAZ and making a left turn, did not give way to an Audi that was moving on the main road.

According to Biloshytsky, in the first half of this year, 1962 road accidents with fatalities and/or injuries have already occurred in the country, killing 71 children and injuring 2,230.
