We can now analyze 11 months of this year. In total, 32.3 million people crossed the border in both directions - to enter and leave. Compared to the same period in 2023, this is a decrease, albeit a slight one. For in 11 months of 2023, 32.8 million people crossed the border, which is actually half a million more
At the same time, 32.3 million people crossed the border in 11 months this year, 28 million of them were Ukrainian citizens.
And, in terms of percentage, it's 50-50 - almost 14 million people crossed the border to leave Ukraine and to enter Ukraine. That is, there is no significant preference for either leaving Ukraine or entering Ukraine
Demchenko noted that in November, the number of border crossings amounted to 2.5 million people, which corresponds to the figure for November 2023. However, this is less than in October of this year, when 2.9 million people crossed the border.
There was no significant preference in the direction of movement even within months. At the same time, in the summer, there was a preference for leaving Ukraine in June, while in July and August, there was a preference for entering the country.
The highest passenger traffic was recorded at the border with Poland. The SBGS spokesperson added that the number of crossings is expected to increase as the New Year and Christmas period approaches.
Demchenko also said that over 11 months, almost 55,000 Ukrainians were denied entry to the country. The main category of those who were denied were men aged 16 to 60 who did not meet the conditions for crossing the border.
