A trial begins in Kharkiv region against an agronomist accused of collaborating with the occupiers to mine fields in Kupiansk district.
According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the 57-year-old man is accused of aiding the aggressor state under Article 111-2, paragraph 1, of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
During the occupation of the village of Vasylenkove, Kupyansk district, in March 2022, the said agronomist established friendly relations with representatives of the russian federation and assisted them in gaining a foothold in the territory. He actively assisted the occupiers in choosing places to mine fields in order to counter the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, the accused demanded from his colleagues to transfer materials for the construction of fortifications and provided the occupiers with food and firewood.
The defendant's activities were detected and stopped by law enforcement in early 2023.

According to the verdict, the 57-year-old enemy accomplice will remain in custody without the right to bail. The trial of the agronomist will take place in the Ordzhonikidze District Court of Kharkiv. The defendant faces up to 12 years in prison with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of 10 to 15 years, as well as confiscation of property.
