The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has approved the basic principles and procedures for admission of applicants during the 2024 admission campaign, the ministry said on Wednesday, UNN reports.

"The Ministry of Education and Science has approved the procedures for admission to higher and professional higher education in 2024," the statement said.
Some of the significant changes include:
- Competitive selection for studying for a higher education degree on the basis of a complete general secondary education, an educational qualification level of a junior specialist, an educational and professional degree of a professional junior bachelor, a higher education degree of a junior bachelor is carried out on the basis of the results of the External Independent Evaluation 2021 and/or entrance examinations 2022-2024.
- Starting in 2024, there will be no enrollment of applicants for a junior bachelor's degree.
- This year, applicants to higher education institutions for creative specialties will be required to take a national multi-subject test (NMT) and a creative competition.
- The NMT will include four subjects, of which three - Ukrainian language, history of Ukraine and mathematics - are compulsory. Instead, the right to choose one more subject remains with the applicant.
- The competitive score for admission on the basis of the EQF and NQF5 cannot be less than 150 points for specialties in the fields of knowledge 08 "Law", 28 "Public Administration and Management", 29 "International Relations", specialties 221 "Dentistry", 222 "Medicine", 226 "Pharmacy, Industrial Pharmacy", 228 "Pediatrics" of the field of knowledge 22 "Health Care".
- There will be a ban on non-competitive admission, even on a contract basis, for all specialties and levels of higher education.
- The Unified State Qualification Exam (USQE) for bachelor's degrees will be held. That is, the results of the USQE will be taken into account for applicants to a number of master's programs.
- College graduates will be required to pass the NMT or submit the results of the 2021 EIT to enter higher education institutions.
Some changes also apply to admission to professional higher education institutions in 2024. In particular, applicants can submit up to five applications for the budget and up to fifteen applications for all sources of funding in total for all admission criteria. In addition, the admission campaign ends on October 31, 2024.
