After imposing the preventive measure, the court ordered Olha Stefanishyna to appear when summoned by the detective, prosecutor, or court. She must also refrain from communicating with a number of persons identified by the court.
"From the moment the preventive measure in the form of bail is imposed, the suspect is, among other things, obliged to comply with the obligations imposed on her," the judge stressed.
Context
Two days before information emerged about the new suspicion, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Olha Stefanishyna from the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States of America. The head of state signed the relevant decree on August 3, 2026.
Stefanishyna herself said that she was leaving her diplomatic post due to personal circumstances. Earlier, she also stated that the head of state had not demanded her resignation and wanted her to continue working in Washington.
It should be noted that in July, some politicians and media outlets had already reported that NABU was allegedly preparing a new suspicion against Stefanishyna. At that time, the anti-corruption agencies did not officially confirm this information.
