Eight concert halls across Sweden are canceling performances by the Russian Heritage Ballet Theater after a joint external investigation failed to rule out its ties to the Russian state. This is reported by Sveriges Radio, UNN reports .
Details
It is noted that the following year, the St. Petersburg Ballet Theater was to tour eight cities in Sweden with performances of Swan Lake and The Nutcracker. But as a result of public pressure, everything had to be canceled.
The concert halls have jointly launched an investigation to find out whether the Czech company behind the tour has ties to the Russian state.
As a result of the investigation, such connections could not be ruled out.
In particular, it is alleged that the general director of the ballet company has another company at an address associated with the Russian military.
Obviously, we have to draw conclusions from this,
At the same time, the organizers of the tour assured us that there is a difference between state-owned Russian theaters such as the Bolshoi or the Mariinsky and private ballet companies.
