On the night of July 12, in temporarily occupied Crimea, as well as in the occupied parts of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, large-scale power outages occurred. At the same time, information appeared online about a possible strike on the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant in Sevastopol. According to "ATESH", the occupied Henichesk and Melitopol were left without power. A massive blackout was also recorded in Crimea, particularly in Simferopol, Sevastopol, Yalta, Kerch, Feodosia, Alushta, and Sudak.

According to "Crimean Wind", before the blackout, an explosion was heard in Sevastopol, after which an air raid siren was activated in the city. Power supply is also reported to be absent in surrounding settlements.
