In Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained 5 members of a criminal organization who were taking away businesses from entrepreneurs under threat of reprisals. This is reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, UNN reports.

Investigators found that for a long time the detainees had been demanding that representatives of two companies transfer their business rights.
The objects of criminal encroachments were six parking lots in Kyiv, where the victims legally carried out their business activities. In order to force the entrepreneurs to transfer their business rights, members of the criminal organization threatened them with physical violence and intimidated them with reprisals
Law enforcement officers searched the suspects' residences and detained the head and 4 members of the criminal organization.
At present, the detainees have been notified of suspicion and the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv has imposed a measure of restraint in the form of round-the-clock house arrest with the obligation to wear an electronic monitoring device. The prosecutor filed appeals against these decisions

It is noted that thanks to threats, the attackers managed to seize the right to use parking lots and freely collect parking fees from car owners. The losses incurred by the entrepreneurs amounted to more than UAH 1 million.
During the searches, weapons and ammunition, cash, draft records, "accounting" of illegal activities, and other material evidence were seized from the detainees.

It is noted that the exposure of criminal activity was carried out by prosecutors of the Pechersk District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv, together with prosecutors of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office and together with investigators of the Pechersk Police Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Kyiv with operational support from the SBU Main Directorate in Kyiv and Kyiv region.
