The Georgian Interior Ministry announced the detention of 107 people at protest actions in Tbilisi, Reports UNN with reference to Georgian news.
The detainees are accused of disobeying the requirements of the police and disorderly conduct – articles 166 and 173 of the Code of administrative offenses.
The agency says that the protest "repeatedly exceeded the norms established by law." They say that throughout the night, the protesters put up verbal and physical resistance to the police, threw various objects, stones, glass bottles in their direction, and launched pyrotechnics.
According to media reports, 10 employees of the Ministry of internal affairs were injured. Until now, one policeman remains in the medical facility with burns to various parts of his body.
"Despite numerous appeals, those gathered damaged the infrastructure of the Tbilisi City Hall and individuals at the legislative body, the protective fence of the parliament, set fire to various objects and electrical wiring, erected barricades, damaged the entrance gates of the parliament and video surveillance cameras," the statement said.
The ministry does not say anything about demonstrators and journalists affected by police actions. The media recorded numerous facts of beating up protesters.
The dispersal of the rally on Rustaveli lasted almost 7 hours. The security forces used water cannons, gas capsules, pepper spray and other special equipment.
Last rally, on the night of November 28-29, 43 people were detained at the rally in Tbilisi.
