Ukraine's ZNPP has lost its connection to the only backup power line amid increased military activity in the area. This is reported by the International Atomic Energy Agency, UNN reports.

Details

Ukraine's Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) has been in the spotlight after losing connection to the only remaining backup power line. The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Grossi, said this, emphasizing the risks to nuclear safety.

According to the IAEA experts, the outage of the single 330-kilovolt line occurred at 10:06 a.m. local time on April 4, 2024, forcing the power plant to be completely dependent on a single 750-kilovolt line.

This situation complicates the operation of the power plant and poses serious threats to its safety.

The reason for the outage remains unknown, but it occurred in the context of reports of increased military activity in the region.

The IAEA experts also recorded numerous volleys of artillery fire and rocket shots in the area of the power plant.
