In Zatoka in Odesa region, another language conflict has broken out. An employee of a local cafe kicked a woman out of the establishment because she asked to be served in Ukrainian. UNN reports this with reference to the post of the visitor Valeria Yaskiv on Facebook.

Yaskiv said that the incident happened on July 30 at an establishment called BurgerZ. The woman wanted to place an order, and was answered in Russian. When the woman asked to speak Ukrainian, she was asked to leave the establishment.
Yaskiv went out and called the police, who drew up an administrative report.
The police were reluctant to respond to my request to the police to warn the establishment about their service, but together with them I went to the Z establishment, from which we were again kicked out by the police, saying that it was “private property”, and on the street we talked to the owner of the establishment, who aggressively defended the Russian language and said that neither he nor his family (who all work in this establishment) would ever switch to the state language
She also said that loud Russian-language music was played in the establishment, and the menu for visitors was also not written in the state language.
Representative of the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language in Odesa Oblast Yaroslava Vitko-Prysyazhnyuk responded to the language scandal. She said that she had spoken with the woman whose language rights had been violated, regional law enforcement officers, who had revisited the establishment and met with the owners.
Based on the results of the complaint and the Commissioner's order, state control measures were initiated to ensure compliance with the language law by the owner of this establishment. All necessary response measures will be taken, as well as additional outreach to representatives of the service sector of Odesa region
She reiterated that violation of citizens' rights to receive information in the state language is unacceptable.
