On Thursday, June 25, the Weeks of Improvement of Historical Monuments of the Ukrainian capital started on Mykhailivska Square in Kyiv. Some of them will be opened by the Constitution Day of Ukraine on June 28. This was reported by a correspondent of UNN from the scene.
Details
The organizers of this initiative are the Department of Culture of the Kyiv City State Administration and the Shevchenkivskyi District Administration with the support of LLC "INWHITE". They aimed to open significant landmarks of the capital to Kyiv residents after a long protective conservation due to Russian aggression.
To do this, a delicate and professional cleaning of the monuments was required. Thus, on June 25, the monument to Princess Olga on Mykhailivska Square was cleaned - representatives of the press were also invited to this event.

On July 9, 2026, it is planned to clean and open the monument to Lesya Ukrainka on Lesya Ukrainka Square, near the Central Election Commission, and on July 23, the monument to Mykola Lysenko near the National Opera of Ukraine.
It is noted that all work is carried out on a charitable basis, without using the budget of the city of Kyiv.
