Ukrainian troops managed to push back Russian forces near Pishchane, near Pokrovsk in Donetsk region. Fighting with the enemy is currently ongoing there. This was reported by the spokesman for the Khortytsia military unit Nazar Voloshyn during a telethon, UNN reports .
"There are no enemy subversive reconnaissance groups in Pokrovsk, no fighting is taking place on the outskirts of the city. Of course, the enemy is trying to move closer to the city," said Voloshyn.
According to him, the Russians are trying to break through the left and right flanks to avoid a frontal assault.
"The enemy also avoids frontal attacks, so they try to avoid the city. Of course, this city is important for us, because there is a railroad there, which the enemy will try to grab. At the moment, our Defense Forces have managed to push back Russian forces near Pishchane, which is not far from Pokrovsk. This is a village near the village of Shevchenko. The defense forces fought the enemy, he rolled back to the landings and now there are ongoing hostilities with the enemy," said Voloshyn.
He noted that in the Pokrovsk sector the enemy outnumbered the Defense Forces in manpower.
"Against our one brigade, the enemy is putting up four brigades that are going to assault," Voloshyn said.
