The Humanitarian Coordinator for Ukraine, Denise Brown, strongly condemned Russia's massive attack that has damaged critical civilian infrastructure across Ukraine, leaving major cities without electricity and water supplies.

The Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine Denise Brown strongly condemned today's massive attack by the Russian Federation, which damaged critical civilian infrastructure across the country. UNN reports with reference to the UN press service.

I am outraged by the scale of today's attacks by the armed forces of the Russian Federation on energy infrastructure across Ukraine.  As a result of these attacks, residents of major cities such as Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia, and other towns and cities across the country have been left without electricity and water supply

- the statement reads.

Brown noted that these hostile strikes have also killed people and damaged homes and schools, causing  new suffering for people.

The significant impact of today's attacks on critical civilian infrastructure will exacerbate an already dire humanitarian situation for millions of people in Ukraine

- is specified in the application.

Brown emphasized that under international humanitarian law, civilians and civilian infrastructure must be protected.

"International humanitarian law must be respected," Brown urged.
