A new checkpoint "Velyka Palad - Nagyhodos" on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border for passenger cars up to 3.5 tons is expected to start operating in April, the Ministry of Development reported on Friday, UNN writes.

Currently, as noted, the construction of the checkpoint on a temporary (modular) infrastructure is being completed. The designated checkpoint will be for processing passenger cars up to 3.5 tons, and will operate during the daytime.
Temporary infrastructure has been installed on both the Hungarian and Ukrainian sides. Customs and border services will work there. Barriers are being installed.
The opening of the checkpoint was agreed in April last year. The construction of the "Velyka Palad" checkpoint complies with the government-approved Strategy for the Development and Development of Border Infrastructure until 2030.

In December last year, the "Luzhanka - Beregsuranj" checkpoint with Hungary became available for empty trucks weighing more than 7.5 tons. Currently, with the support of international partners, road infrastructure is being installed at this checkpoint.
In general, there are 5 road checkpoints with Hungary, the largest of which is "Chop - Zakhon", which is the only one intended for trucks over 7.5 tons carrying goods.
