Ukraine has two working draft laws that would allow depriving artists of honorary titles. This was stated by the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, Mykyta Poturaev, during a telethon on the evening of March 19, UNN reports.

"We have two working laws, one is ours, and it is simple," Poturaev said.
According to him, one of the draft laws was authored by MPs Mykyta Poturaiev and Volodymyr Viatrovych.
"Sanctions do not deprive, we need to have legislation that clearly states that there is a court verdict... and this automatically deprives. The president only has to sign the decree," Poturaev said.
He reiterated that "our law is very simple, very transparent, absolutely, with a clear criterion." "There is only one criterion - if the court passes a verdict of high treason, there are many articles related to high treason... there is a submission that the president should be informed, issue a decree... and such a person is deprived of his or her rank," Poturaev said.
"We are talking about depriving the titles of People's Artist, Honored Artist of Ukraine of those people who are accused, in particular, of articles of the Criminal Code of treason, collaboration, and so on, and who have been proven in court," Vyatrovych added.
