U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that the President of Iran wants a ceasefire ahead of his address to the American people. The American leader made this statement on his social network, Truth Social, UNN reports.
However, Trump referred to this as the "new regime of the President of Iran." Iran still has the same president.
Trump also stated that a ceasefire would only occur when the Strait of Hormuz is "open, free, and clear."
"Until then, we are putting Iran back into oblivion or, as they say, back into the Stone Age!!!" he wrote.

Context
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in an interview with Al Jazeera that aired late Tuesday, hinted at Tehran's readiness to continue the fight.
"You cannot speak to the people of Iran in the language of threats and deadlines," he said. "We do not set any deadlines for self-defense."
