US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said that the attempted assassination was made possible by a lack of coordination between law enforcement agencies. At the same time, he noted the high quality of the Secret Service's work, which helped to avoid a greater number of deaths and injuries. The interview was broadcast in writing by The Guardian, reports UNN.

"Bullets were flying over my head, and the guys from the Secret Service covered me. They were moving very fast, it took a lot of courage. But they lacked coordination. It's obvious to everyone that the building from whose roof the shooting was carried out had to be under special control," Donald Trump said during a conversation with American entrepreneur Elon Musk.
Trump also praised the work of the U.S. Secret Service sniper, who killed Thomas Matthew Crooks, who had made the attempt, with a return shot.
"He saw the smoke and flashes, instantly recognized what it was, and immediately fired. It was a perfect shot from a long distance. If he hadn't, many more people would have been injured or killed," Trump added.
