Law enforcement officers in the capital notified a 47-year-old Kyiv resident of suspicion of fraud. This was reported by UNN, citing the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the investigation, the victims of fraudsters who posed as SBU officers and demanded that money be handed over for verification were a 67-year-old woman and a 78-year-old man.
The pensioners, in order to dispel all suspicions of alleged collaborationist activities and financing of russia, handed over all their savings to a courier. Thus, the woman gave the pseudo-law enforcement officers $42,000 and €665 "for verification," while the man took $225,000 and €11,250 from his apartment. After taking the money, the suspect transferred it to a cryptocurrency wallet specified by the organizers of the scheme
More than $32,600, €1,610, and UAH 450,000 were found and seized from the detainee. He was notified of suspicion of fraud on an especially large scale (Part 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The article carries a penalty of 5 to 12 years’ imprisonment with confiscation of property.
