Kyiv law enforcement officers have notified a 47-year-old Kyiv resident of suspicion of fraud. This is reported by UNN with reference to the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, the victims of the fraudsters, who posed as SBU employees and demanded money for a "check," were a 67-year-old woman and a 78-year-old man.
To clear themselves of alleged suspicion of collaboration and financing the Russian Federation, the pensioners gave all their savings to a courier. Thus, the woman handed over "for verification" 42 thousand dollars and 665 euros to the pseudo-law enforcement officers, while the man brought out 225 thousand dollars and 11,250 euros from his apartment. The suspect, after taking the money, transferred it to a crypto wallet specified by the scheme's organizers.
The detainee was found and seized with over 32,600 US dollars, 1,610 euros, and 450,000 hryvnias. He has been notified of suspicion of fraud on an especially large scale (Part 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment from 5 to 12 years with confiscation of property.
