According to the country's authorities, as of Saturday, the disease has claimed the lives of 247 people. A day earlier, 933 confirmed cases and 245 deaths were reported.
Thus, in just one day, the number of confirmed infections increased by 23 cases.
Among the infected are healthcare workers
The World Health Organization reported that since the beginning of the current Ebola outbreak in the Congo, at least 75 healthcare workers have been infected.
Ebola is a severe viral disease transmitted through contact with biological fluids of infected people or animals and can lead to high mortality.
Currently, the country's authorities and international organizations continue measures to contain the spread of the infection.
