During a conversation with journalists, when asked why the sirens did not sound in the city, the official initially replied: "And should they have?"

Later, Sobakin stated that he does not make decisions about activating the warning systems and could not name the body or officials responsible for their operation.

If this is indeed a threat, then, probably, it is possible (to turn on the sirens - ed.). It's just that no one reacts to them anyway. Where I live, the sirens are not turned on at all, and I have enough birds without the sirens

– said Sobakin.

After the drone attack, residents of Chekhov complained that they did not receive any warnings about the danger and learned about the attack only after the first explosions.
