Representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Yusov explained the narrative that Russian President Vladimir Putin allegedly "wants to end the war" with Ukraine. He said this on the air of the TV channel "We-Ukraine", reports UNN.
According to Yusov, this narrative about Putin's desire to "end the war" is aimed at splitting Ukrainian society and the international coalition. In addition, the occupiers want to "justify" the state of their economy to the Russians.
"In addition to possible non-public signals, there are similar public narratives by Russian "experts" and politicians - the latest wave has just recently passed. These statements will be directed to the middle of Ukraine in order to try to continue Russian opposition to our country, to demotivate and split society, and the international coalition will try to split as well. But this will not work. As for the other signs, the best one is the state of the Russian economy and the forecasts of their economic development - no matter what they tell the Russians, things are far from ideal there, and the prospect is only getting worse," Yusov said.
The Kremlin understands this and is trying to take appropriate measures not in terms of economic recovery, as this is unlikely, but in terms of its geopolitical adventures, the DIU representative added.
