General Staff responded to the violations by military personnel of the 155th OMBr and the AWOL of the commander

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced cooperation with law enforcement in investigating violations by military personnel of the 155th OMBr. The suspects have been suspended, and the brigade commander is being sought for unauthorized absence from service.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine made a statement regarding the offenses of the military personnel of the 155th Mechanized Brigade and the search for the commander who went AWOL, reports UNN.

In connection with the information regarding offenses committed by servicemen of the 155th separate mechanized brigade, as well as the fact of the commander's unauthorized absence from the military unit, we report the following. The illegal actions committed by the servicemen are being considered under a preliminary classification within the framework of criminal proceedings. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by law enforcement agencies. The subjects of the proceedings have been suspended from performing their official duties

As stated, "the military law enforcement service and military command bodies are interacting with law enforcement agencies within the framework of the pre-trial investigation, in particular regarding establishing the whereabouts of the brigade commander."

The General Staff, it is noted, "confirms full cooperation with law enforcement agencies at all stages of the investigation and providing them with the necessary assistance within the competence of the military command."

"If the investigation proves guilt, they will be held accountable for every crime committed, regardless of the position or previous merits of the subjects. In the event that the guilt of officials is established in court, the General Staff will take response measures provided for by law. We emphasize zero tolerance for any illegal manifestations among personnel that contradict the law," the statement reads.

Recall

The Military Law Enforcement Service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the former commander of the 155th separate mechanized brigade and all currently identified participants in the crime have been notified of suspicion in the case of illegal imprisonment and premeditated murder.

Prior to this, the "North" Operational Command reported on the investigation of events involving the military personnel of the 155th Mechanized Brigade, noting that the commander had left the service without authorization and is being sought.

The Ground Forces explained the situation surrounding the events with the soldiers of the 155th Mechanized Brigade and stated cooperation with the investigation11.07.26, 20:59

This statement appeared after information emerged in the media that law enforcement officers had detained several soldiers of the brigade.  

According to data on the brigade's website, since February 2026, the commander of the 155th Mechanized Brigade (military unit A5001) named after Anna of Kyiv has been Lieutenant Colonel Stanislav Luchanov. Until 2026, he held the position of chief of staff in the 425th separate assault regiment "Skelya".
