It is noted that in this way Switzerland sends a "powerful signal of solidarity" with the victims and contributes to ensuring stability throughout Europe.
In total, 5 billion Swiss francs are planned to be allocated for this (restoration of Ukraine - ed.) until 2036. As a first step, about 1.5 billion Swiss francs are to be raised from the international cooperation budget by 2028. This amount clearly demonstrates Switzerland's solidarity with the people affected by the war in Ukraine and will increase stability on the European continent
Bern believes that this money will help prevent migration flows. According to the Swiss government, the total cost of the reconstruction work is estimated at about 440 billion Swiss francs.
