Addendum

The Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026) will take place in the city of Gdańsk on June 25-26, 2026, jointly organized by the Republic of Poland and Ukraine.

Today, the head of the chancellery of the President of Poland, Zbigniew Bogucki, stated that he has information that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, will not come to the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk.

"According to my information, the decision not to come to Gdańsk was made even before President Nawrocki decided to revoke the Order of the White Eagle," said Bogucki.

This comes after the President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, decided to strip the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, of the Order of the White Eagle.

The decision was made after Nawrocki stated that he is critical of the decision of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, to assign the name "named after the Heroes of the UPA" to a Ukrainian Special Operations Forces unit.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, granted one of the units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine the name "named after the Heroes of the UPA" at the end of May.

The Order of the White Eagle was awarded to Volodymyr Zelenskyy in 2023 by the then President of Poland, Andrzej Duda.

Following the decision of the President of Poland, a number of Ukrainian high-ranking officials and former presidents Leonid Kuchma, Viktor Yushchenko, and Petro Poroshenko refused Polish awards.
