According to the approved regulation of the Ministry of Education and Science, vocational education institutions will have a clear procedure for involving an assistant who will help the student during training and practice.
"The assistant will accompany the student both during theoretical classes and during practical training. He will provide support in movement, spatial orientation, communication, self-care, and will also monitor the state of health and contribute to creating safe conditions during training. In addition, the assistant will inform the educational institution about the student's needs, and in case of bullying, will report it to the management and help stop such cases," the Ministry of Education and Science stated.
The assistant can be the parents or other legal representatives of the student, a person authorized by them, or a social worker. For this, parents must obtain a conclusion from the inclusive resource center about the need for an assistant and submit an application, and the assistant must undergo special training and a medical examination.
"After that, an agreement on his participation in the educational process is concluded between the assistant and the vocational education institution. Before starting work, the assistant undergoes special training lasting at least 15 hours and a medical examination, after which the head of the institution issues an order for his admission to the educational process," the post states.
