Recently, Sumy region has been the most active area where Russians have been using their sabotage and reconnaissance groups. There has also been an increase in activity in the Kharkiv region. This was reported by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, during a telethon on Monday, according to a correspondent of UNN.
In fact, the threat from Russia is coming from Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions, primarily because of the shelling the enemy is carrying out on the territory of our country. In addition to this, there are attempts to use sabotage and reconnaissance groups. Recently, Sumy region has been the most active area where the enemy has been using its saboteurs. We have also recently seen an increase in activity in the Kharkiv sector
He reminded that an attempt to enter the subversive group in the Sumy sector was repelled last week, and two more subversive groups were exposed in Kharkiv region a few days ago.
"His (the enemy's - ed.) main task is to ensure that Ukraine keeps a certain part of its forces on the border with Russia so that we cannot transfer them to the most important areas where full-scale hostilities are taking place," Demchenko said.
According to him, joint actions between the SBGS units and the Armed Forces of Ukraine allow to effectively counteract the threat of the DRG.
"The guys are well aware that the enemy will continue to use their saboteurs to expose the places where Ukrainian defenders are located and try to hit these locations," noted Demchenko.
