Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico describes the war as a "frozen conflict"

Fico suspended his country's military aid to Ukraine after his new government was sworn in on October 25.

After meeting with his Czech counterpart Peter Fiala in Prague on Friday, he said he would like to see the Russian and Ukrainian sides sit down to talks. He did not say how to achieve this.

Addendum

Fico traveled to Prague on his first bilateral trip abroad. The leaders of the two countries, as indicated, traditionally visit each other after their election before visiting other heads of state. The two have remained close to each other since Czechoslovakia split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 1993, the newspaper notes.
