Yesterday, Russian "children's rights ombudsman" Maria Lvova-Belova said that Moscow and Kyiv "held the first face-to-face talks" on the exchange of children. The Center for Combating Disinformation revealed the true motives behind the statements of the Russian children's ombudsman, UNN reports.

Probably, with her statement, Lviv-Belova wanted to minimize Russia's responsibility for the forced deportation of Ukrainian children, the report said.

Context

On April 24, Lvova-Belova reportedthat Moscow and Kyiv "held the first face-to-face talks" on the exchange of children.

The Russian ombudsman did not say how exactly Ukrainian children ended up in the hands of Russians

In fact, this information does not correspond to reality, as reported by Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets, who noted that the return of Ukrainian children and negotiations are taking place with the mediation of Qatar and Qatari diplomats.

Recall

The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Children's Rights Commissioner Maria Levova-Belova. They are suspected of illegal deportation and transfer of Ukrainian children.

The arrest warrants mean that outside of Russia, Putin and Levova-Belova must be arrested and brought to trial.
