Law enforcement agencies have notified a Russian serviceman of suspicion of raping a minor during the occupation of the Kherson region. The victim was 17 years old: the crime occurred in March 2024. This is reported by UNN with reference to the Office of the Prosecutor General and the National Police of Ukraine.
Details
As the investigation established, around 10:00 p.m., the suspect and another Russian serviceman forcibly put a 17-year-old girl into a car and took her outside the populated area.
First, they raped her, then moved her to one of the houses in the same populated area, where they raped her again.
The suspect is a 35-year-old native of Chechnya with the call sign Chorny. Since 2022, he has been serving in the 70th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 42nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
At the time of the crime, he was serving as a paramedic of a motorized rifle company of a motorized rifle battalion of the 70th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 42nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. He currently holds the rank of lieutenant and serves as the head of intelligence
The suspect has been notified of suspicion of cruel treatment of the civilian population, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the articles provides for imprisonment from 8 to 12 years.
The identity of the other Russian serviceman is being established by Ukrainian law enforcement officers.
