In Romania, доларів 7 million was seized from Bogdan Pescher, who is suspected of illegally financing the campaign of Celin Georgescu. The investigation found that Pescher paid for the candidate's promotion through TikTok, spending more than 1 million euros. Writes UNN with reference to Agerpres.

Investigators of the prosecutor general's office conducted searches in three homes of election campaign financier Celin Georgescu and Bohdan Peshchir in Brasov, which lasted from Saturday morning to night.

Devices, computers, and storage media were seized. After computer analysis, law enforcement officers ordered to transfer 7 7 million from Peshchir's account to Anabi's accounts.

Pechir is suspected of bribing voters, money laundering, computer fraud, and violating the law banning fascist, racist, and xenophobic symbols (GEO 31/2002).

According to the prosecutor's office, the investigation concerns the alleged illegal financing of the election campaign of Célin Giorgescu, which was carried out with the help of funds obtained illegally.

According to SRI documents, Pescir used a "bogpr" account on TikTok, through which he made donations worth more than 1 million euros to support Georgescu's campaign.

After interrogations, the prosecutor's office decided not to apply any restrictive measures against Peshchir.

After the issue of financing Kalina Georgescu's company became the subject of public discussions, Tik Tok confirmed the participation of the user "bogpr" in the promotion of the candidate. In a dialogue with the Romanian authorities on November 28, 2024, representatives of the platform confirmed that the user "bogpr" made payments in the amount of 381 thousand US dollars in the period from October 24 to November 24, 2024. These funds were sent to TikTok users who participated in the promotion of Georgescu, including after the end of the election campaign.

According to the SRI report, TikTok influencers were funded through the FameUp platform, designed to monetize online advertising. Within the framework of this platform, an advertising offer was placed with a clear description of the terms of cooperation. One of the methods of attracting Romanian influencers was to contact them by email from a company of South African origin. She offered 1,000 euros for distributing videos created by them promoting the candidacy of Céline Giorgescu.
