Russian dictator Vladimir Putin cynically accused the Ukrainian Armed Forces of attempting to allegedly attack the Kursk nuclear power plant on the night of August 22. He said this at a meeting on the situation in the border regions of Russia, UNN reports with reference to TASS.
Putin claims that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has been informed and promises to come and assess the situation.
"The enemy tried to strike the nuclear power plant at night today. The International Atomic Energy Agency has been informed, and they promise to come and send experts to assess the situation. I hope that eventually they will do so," Putin said cynically.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi saidthat he plans to visit the Kursk nuclear power plant in the next few days and then travel to Kyiv, where he plans to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
