Law enforcement officials held a meeting on the investigation into the murder of public figure Irina Farion. According to the Prosecutor General's Office, priority interrogations of witnesses, yard and house-to-house visits are being conducted, and a number of necessary forensic examinations have been scheduled, UNN reports.

According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, a meeting was held today with the Minister of Internal Affairs to investigate the murder of a public figure, MP of the VII convocation, Iryna Farion.
"During the meeting, they discussed the results of priority measures aimed at identifying and detaining the attacker. The deputy heads of the National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine presented the relevant information," the statement said.
According to the Office, versions are being worked out, including premeditated murder related to the victim's professional activities and active civil position.
Priority interrogations are conducted with eyewitnesses, i.e. persons who were near the scene of the incident or who may know any circumstances of the criminal offense.
A range of investigative (detective) actions and operational and search activities are carried out, including door-to-door and house-to-house visits to obtain information relevant to the pre-trial investigation.
Video surveillance cameras are installed and measures are taken to obtain video recordings relevant to the investigation (at the scene, near the scene, and on the offender's approach and departure routes).
In addition, a number of necessary forensic examinations have also been ordered.
"The pre-trial investigation is ongoing," the Prosecutor General's Office summarized.

On July 19, an unidentified person shot at Iryna Farion, a linguist and professor at Lviv Polytechnic. The woman was taken to the hospital with a head wound in extremely serious condition.
Irina Farion died in the hospital.
Police have several versions of the murder of linguist Irina Farion, including public and political activities and personal animosity. Law enforcement officers found a shell casing after the shooting and do not rule out a "Russian trace" in the crime.
In the morning, the police, together with the SBU, are carrying out a set of measures to detain the attacker who shot Farion. Law enforcement officers are interviewing eyewitnesses, checking information, studying surveillance video, and taking other measures to identify the attacker and his whereabouts.
The funeral of linguist Iryna Farion will be held on July 21 at 19:00 in the Garrison Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Lviv, the funeral will take place the next day, July 22, and the public figure will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv.
