On December 21, in Odesa, a leopard attacked a worker who came to clean the enclosure. Police opened a criminal investigation. This was reported by the press service of the police, UNN reports.

“Another employee rushed to help the wounded man, and both men were trapped behind the fence with the animal. To save the people and prevent the animal from escaping into the city, the police used firearms and neutralized the leopard,” the police said.
The wounded man was later hospitalized. He had numerous wounds and bites. The man is currently in serious condition. The second zoo worker was not injured.
The police opened proceedings under Part 2 of Article 272 (violation of safety rules during work).
All the circumstances of the incident are being established and the investigation is ongoing.
