The new railway line that the Russian invaders are building in the area of temporarily occupied Mariupol will be in the area of the Defense Forces, given the military assistance we are to receive from our partners. This was announced on Monday during a telethon by the head of the Center for Strategic Communications of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk, an UNN correspondent reports.

Mayor's advisor Petro Andriushchenko reportedthat Russians may complete the construction of a railroad near occupied Mariupol between the villages of Novovasylivka, Hranitne, and Burne in Donetsk region by mid-May.
When asked how this would affect the logistics of the Russians and whether the Defense Forces have the ability to interfere with the enemy's plans, Pletenchuk replied: "Let's look and operate with the facts that are already common knowledge, and it is common knowledge that this railroad line is much closer to the line of combat contact than the bridge. Given the aid that we are to receive, we can say that this area is in the hit zone. But of course, they are building the railroad and they have every chance of completing it.
According to him, there is one advantage of railroad transportation as a military logistics tool: it can be restored fairly quickly.
"The enemy is well aware of this. That's why they are building it and building it, including realizing that the bridge is under threat and cannot meet the needs of the Russian Federation," Pletenchuk said.
Earlier, Pletenchuk noted that the Crimean bridge does not currently provide the necessary volume of military logistics.
"Because while cars can still drive on it, even military trucks, a full-fledged railroad train, even fuel tanks, have been standing on Taman for months, they are not allowed to cross the bridge because there is no confidence in the Russian occupier that the bridge is being used up after it was damaged as a result of a joint operation by the SBU and the Navy," Pletenchuk said.

British intelligence reportedthat the Russian railroad in the occupied Azov region would be vulnerable to Ukrainian weapons.
