The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the state standard for specialized secondary education. It is envisaged that it will be applied from September 1, 2027, for students enrolled in twelve-year complete general secondary education programs. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Ministry of Education and Science.
Details
It is reported that from September 1, 2027, pupils and students will begin to receive complete general secondary education according to the new standard:
- in academic lyceums (grades 10-12);
- institutions of specialized education; - institutions of vocational (vocational and technical education);
- institutions of professional higher education.
"The standard will allow pupils and students to form an individual educational trajectory," the Ministry of Education and Science informs.
What does this mean? Choosing a study profile to offer:
- academic subjects and integrated courses for in-depth or professionally oriented study;
- subjects and integrated courses outside of the major.

Earlier, the Ministry of Education and Science reported that Ukraine is preparing to introduce specialized secondary education in 2027. Pilot projects will begin in 2025. 25 schools have been selected to prepare for the reform.
